How they voted on daylight-saving time

Associated Press             April 28, 2005

Votes today as the House, on a 48 49 vote, failed to approve a bill that would require all of Indiana to observe daylight saving time. The vote did not kill the legislation, however, because it takes a constitutional majority of 51 votes to pass a bill or defeat one outright.
Voting yes were 39 Republicans and 9 Democrats. Voting no were 13 Republicans and 36 Democrats. Excused from voting were Tiny Adams, D Muncie; James Bottorff, D Jeffersonville; and John Day, D Indianapolis.
