Letters To The Editor -
Indianapolis Star July 24, 2005 In this dilemma due to no stated preference It seems one reason the daylight-saving time hearings were denied was because there was no stated preference for which time zone was being requested in the governor's letter. The Department of Transportation directive said this was a major reason why the request was denied. Was our governor, who ran on saying he preferred Central time for most of Indiana, aware of this when he sent the request? It seems someone should have done a little homework first. Now, the intent of our legislature has been denied and there will be time issues unheard of before. I also predict that my party should remember the glowing days of power this year and next because after the next election we will again be the minority party, and after seeing the show at the Statehouse this year, perhaps we deserve this.
