Prediction for future of Central time

Despite The Star's assumption that most of Indiana will stay in the Eastern Time Zone (and thus be on EDT in the summer), it seems far more likely that every county touching the Illinois line will petition to switch to the Central Time Zone, along with every county touching those counties and the counties already on Chicago rather than New York time.

If the people of South Bend, for example, do not wind up in the Central Time Zone, they have only themselves (or their county officials) to blame.

I predict that when the smoke clears, about a third of our state will be watching Monday Night Football at 8 p.m., not 9 p.m.
